Petrina is CEO/Founder of Miracles In Motion Therapy and Consulting LLC where she provides trauma and addiction psychotherapy for adults and youth in Maryland and Washington, D.C. Petrina was raised in Augusta, Georgia, attending Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Care, from University of Maryland, University College May 2012, Master of Social Work degree from The Catholic University of America, and is currently enrolled at Catholic University of America pursuing her PhD in Social Work. In the future Petrina plans to pursue research on women who have experienced incarceration, particularly those who were pregnant during incarceration.


Under Petrina’s direct leadership, her passion for people and work with individuals in recovery was formally recognized by the Executive Office of the President of the United States after witnessing firsthand the impact that intimate case management has on individuals in recovery. With this accomplishment, Petrina is more inspired to establish a women’s Re-Entry Resource Center to enhance treatment opportunities and outcomes for women suffering from alcoholism and other drug dependence, providing assistance for recovering mothers, intervening in the cycle of addiction while helping families heal, reunify and stay together.


Her mission is to help women who have made poor choices resulting in conflict with the law like herself make positive change, rebuild their lives while taking their rightful place back in their families and communities.


Petrina, is inspiring hope and change in women and communities as they “Dare to Realize Their Dreams.”
